Seats.aero Review 2026: Is It Worth It for Finding Award Flights?

Booking flights with points and miles sounds great — until you actually try it. You end up opening ten airline websites, checking date after date, hunting for that one "saver" award seat. It's slow, and most of the time you come up empty.

Seats.aero was built to fix exactly this. It's an award flight search engine that scans dozens of frequent flyer programs at once, so you can see where the award seats actually are — in seconds instead of hours.

Here's how it works, what you get for free, and whether the paid Pro plan is worth it.

What Is Seats.aero?

Seats.aero is a search tool for award flights — flights you book using airline miles or credit card points instead of cash. Instead of checking each airline one by one, it shows cached award availability across 25+ airline loyalty programs in a single search.

You tell it where you want to go and when, and it shows you which dates have award seats and how many points they cost. When you find one you like, you click through and book it directly with the airline program. Think of it as a flight search engine, but for points instead of dollars.

Seats.aero Free vs Pro

Feature	Free	Pro
Search window	~60 days at a time	Up to a full year
Airline programs	25+	25+
Availability alerts (SMS/email)	No	Yes, unlimited
Fare class viewer	No	Yes
Seat map viewer	No	Yes
United PlusPoints finder	No	Yes
Price	Free	~$9.99/month or ~$99.99/year

The free plan is genuinely useful for casual searches. Pro mainly buys you two things: a full year of search range and alerts that ping you the moment a hard-to-find seat opens up.

How to Use Seats.aero (Step by Step)

1. Enter your route — type your origin and destination airports.
2. Pick your dates — choose a range to see all the days with award availability at once.
3. Compare the results — see the mileage cost, cabin, and which program to book through.
4. Book with the airline — click through and complete the booking in the airline's own program.

Who Should Get Seats.aero Pro?

Pro is worth it if you:

• Fly international business or first class on points, where saver seats are rare and disappear fast
• Collect transferable points (Amex, Chase, Capital One) and want flexibility on which program to use
• Book trips far in advance and need the full-year search window
• Want alerts so you don't have to keep checking manually

If you only redeem points once or twice a year for domestic economy, the free plan is probably enough to start.

Pros and Cons

Pros

• Searches 25+ programs at once — huge time saver
• Clean, fast interface
• Alerts catch seats the second they open
• Affordable Pro pricing

Cons

• You still book on the airline's site (it's a search tool, not a booking engine)
• Best value is for frequent international / premium-cabin travelers

Is Seats.aero Worth It?

For anyone serious about using miles, yes — even the free version saves hours of manual searching. If you regularly chase premium-cabin awards or book far ahead, Pro pays for itself the first time it lands you a seat you'd otherwise have missed.
